As of Fall 2022, the Sunnyside Foundation will be managing and administering the Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Program and the Sunnyside Hall of Fame. The Foundation is honored to carry on the Alumni Association’s rich legacy of supporting higher education opportunities for SUSD seniors and recognizing the work of community leaders.

The mission of the Sunnyside District Alumni Association, a chapter of the national Dollars for Scholars scholarship award organization, is to promote graduation, lifelong learning and pride in the Sunnyside District. The Association raises funds for scholarships inducts honorees into the Alumni Association Hall of Fame.

The Sunnyside District Alumni Association has established the Hall of Fame to honor individuals or groups who have made notable contributions to the Sunnyside educational system, the community and/or their chosen profession. All Sunnyside District graduates and friends of the District are invited to become members of the Association.

Sunnyside Employee Payroll Deductions

If you are an SUSD employee, please consider a donation of $5 per paycheck. It is an easy way to make a huge difference. By contributing $5 from each paycheck you can make a difference of $130 per year. If you are currently contributing $5 per paycheck, please consider increasing your donation to at least $10. A $10 per paycheck contribution is a painless way to donate $260 per year! It is a painless way to support a great cause. Your total annual deductions will show on your Federal W-2 form.

Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame honors individuals or groups who have made notable contributions to the Sunnyside educational system, the community, and their chosen profession. Any person or group interested in nominating a candidate for the Hall of Fame may contact the Sunnyside Foundation at (520) 437-1163.

The Hall of Fame application can be submitted either in person to the Sunnyside Foundation office at Los Ranchitos Opportunity Center or sent electronically to [email protected].

A Hall of Fame Committee reviews all the submitted applications and attachments and scores them, using the Hall of Fame Nomination Scoring Rubric (see attached Rubric). Points are given based on the submitted applications and information, which should address each of the activities/accomplishments listed in the Rubric. Nominations submitted must address each category on the Scoring Rubric in order to receive sufficient points.

Please note that the Scoring Committee does not see the names of the nominated individuals. They only review the information and total the points. Individuals nominated will be notified if they have received the points necessary for induction into the Hall of Fame.
