We are thrilled to congratulate our National Board Certified Teachers on their incredible achievement! With only 130,000 teachers – a mere 3% of educators nationwide – earning this prestigious certification, it’s truly an exceptional accomplishment.
To earn this certification, teachers must undergo a rigorous process that involves demonstrating evidence of their positive impact on student learning. This includes showcasing their deep understanding of their students, subject matter expertise, use of data and assessments, and exceptional teaching practices. In addition, they must also demonstrate a commitment to ongoing reflection and continuous learning, as well as participation in learning communities. With certification available in 25 certificate areas spanning 16 disciplines from Pre-K through 12th grade, our teachers have truly demonstrated their dedication to their craft.
We are particularly proud to share that 19 of our Sunnyside Unified School District teachers have achieved National Board Certification, with even more working towards this incredible accomplishment. Congratulations to all of our teachers on this extraordinary achievement, and thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students' success.
