Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year

We are excited to welcome students for in-person instruction, for all grade levels, for the 2021-2022 school year. Although we will no longer offer a hybrid remote learning option, it is important to us that families have choices. We will offer two options for the 2021-2022 school year. Families can choose between sending their students to school for 100% full-time, in-person instruction, or opt for the Distance Learning option which you can read more about in the distance learning section below. New students must complete a new enrollment form. Returning families, please click on the returning student button below. You will need to submit a separate enrollment form for each student you wish to enroll.

Request for Accommodation to Face Covering Requirement

Effective August 20, 2021, teachers, staff, students and visitors must wear a face covering while indoors on school facilities, district offices and school buses regardless of vaccination status. Students who received an accommodation previously may continue with that accommodation. Students who wish to seek a new or revised accommodation may submit a request using the Chronic Health Condition/PPE Certification Request for Accommodations form.

SOSA – Sunnyside Online Success Academy

For families who do not wish to return to in-person learning, we have a distance learning option available, the Sunnyside Online Success Academy (SOSA). SOSA is a full-time, full online learning from home, personalized learning model. The self-paced, independent structure of SOSA requires the student to prioritize and complete tasks on their own. Students interested in SOSA should carefully consider their academic skills, preferred learning styles, and ability to work independently to determine if SOSA is a good match.

  • Five days per week (no set schedule)
  • Online curriculum designed to provide self-paced learning
  • The curriculum is different from the curriculum utilized in SUSD schools
  • Limited direct interactions with a teacher. SOSA has an office-hour structure where students need to schedule time with an instructor for questions and support
  • Chromebooks will be provided to students

If your student attends High School and you are interested in enrolling or learning more about SOSA, please call 545-2300.
If your student attends K–8 and you are interested in enrolling or learning more about SOSA, please speak directly with your school principal.

School Meals

School meals will be free for all SUSD students. Please submit a new Free & Reduced application for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year by clicking on the application link below. The entire process should only take 5 minutes. We appreciate your cooperation. CLICK HERE for lunch application.
